Star-Lord

I had the opportunity to shoot a cosplay of Star-Lord back in October ( I’m so behind on my blogs ) with a fellow photographer. It was a fun day. I was amazed to see how much detail that William Tell had put into his cosplay outfit. He purchased the different pieces from various online stores. The prop manufacturer who made the helmet replica was a German prop maker named David Klakus, and William Tell spent about a month after receiving it painting it to perfection. The walkman is legit, an original Sony Walkman like in the movie (...

Playing with Fire

In October I collaborated with a fellow photographer Shannon to do a fire shoot at the North Bay waterfront. We sought out and received the proper permissions to shoot and have fire on location. It was a chilly but beautiful night. Our model Natasha did a great job staying still for the long exposure shots considering she was half frozen. Dielle was controlling the fire and I must say she is a master at it. It was a really fun night and I look forward to future collaborations with the group. NBPC November Meet

I hosted the first official North Bay Photo Club meet since my surgery. It was so great to get out and see some old faces and meet some new members as well. We met up and had our usual coffee and discussion and then headed out to shoot. This time we were at the beautiful trails behind Canadore College /Nipissing University. We have quite a few members with different experience levels and are always welcoming new people to the club. Here are a few of the shots I took on that day. I find I spend more time talking with members than I do...

7th Annual Kelby Walk

I hosted the 7th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk again this year on October 11th 2014 for North Bay. I woke up to some drizzling rain but was optimistic things would go well. The rain stopped and the skies cleared up slowly as the day progressed. It was great to see some familiar faces and also some new faces out this year. I even had a few people join the photo club afterwards.   The Abbey The building, originally completed in 1926, was a Bank of Nova Scotia structure, built of heavy brick and steel. The Abbey was closed for...

I’m Back!

I’m Back!

So it seems like it has been forever since I did a blog post. Due to health issues, I have been absent on here for the better part of a year. I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot (heart problems) and every so many years I need to get my pulmonary valve replaced. Well after a long year of tests and laying in bed with zero energy, I finally had my 4th heart surgery in July 2014. I am now feeling much better and looking forward to getting back to shooting photos and making great art. It is amazing how far technology has come. This was the first...
